Uke Night Live
Beginner ukulele nights I host in Calgary. People walk in sure they’re not musical and leave two hours later having played about a dozen songs.

What I built
The night itself
FormatTwo hours, about thirty people, a ukulele for everyone and songs they already know. I built it so complete beginners are playing real songs before the nerves win.
The website
Shopify at ukenight.caEvery night gets its own page with the date, the door and the seats left, then answers the two questions every beginner has: do I need experience, and do I need a ukulele? Past nights forward to the next dates, so old links never dead-end.
Four ways in
Public, private, team, hostThe homepage splits Uke Night four ways, a ticket, a private night, a team night or hosting one, so every visitor finds their own door in one look.
Email around every night
KlaviyoAn announcement when dates go up, the practical stuff the week of (parking, which door), and a follow-up the morning after so a fun night turns into someone who keeps playing.
Ads
MetaAds only fill seats, so they run in short bursts close to Calgary when a night needs help, and stay off when it doesn’t.

Selling
the feeling
“You walk in not knowing if you can do this. You leave knowing you can.”
Plenty of people have told themselves they’re not musical for decades. So every page leads with that feeling and lets the details back it up: no experience, the ukulele’s provided, and the songs run from The Beatles to Taylor Swift.
What the
work does
- Beginners get their answers before they buyExperience and the ukulele are covered on every event page.
- Every visitor finds their own way inTickets, private nights, team nights and hosting each have their own path.
- No dead endsA past night’s link always leads to the next dates.
